The ebm-papst group is the world's leading manufacturer of motors and fans. This is because it has the world's largest product range and because of its pioneering work in the field of ultra-efficient EC technology.

This company ebm (Elektrobau Mulfingen GmbH & Co. KG), which started production back in 1963 with 35 employees, has grown into a global player. After the take-over of Papst Motoren GmbH in 1992 and the acquisition of the Landshut factory from Alcatel, the company changed its name to ebm-papst in 2003. Today, the family-run company employs over 11,000 people at 17 production sites (including Germany, China and the USA) and 57 sales offices worldwide. In the last fiscal year 2010/2011, ebm-papst generated a turnover of 1.311 billion euro.

At the three German locations alone,
some 550 engineers and technicians are involved in research in the fields motor technology, fluid mechanics and electrical engineering. These development engineers are continually working to design new products in accordance with the company's philosophy that every product has to be ecologically and economically better than its predecessor. In the current fiscal year, ebm-papst invested 65 million euro in research and development.

ebm-papst is a pacemaker and pioneer in the field of ultra-efficient EC technology. The advantage of EC fans compared to conventional AC units is that these electronically commutated fans can achieve efficiency of about 90 percent, minimising residual heat. EC technology thus ensures maximum energy savings and a substantially longer service life, and it makes for products that are completely maintenance-free. The integrated electronics of EC fans also mean that they can be speed-controlled, plus they are quiet and easy to install.

The products of the world market leader can be found in many different sectors, for example in ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration technology, in household appliances, in heating engineering, in IT and telecommunications applications and in automotive and commercial vehicles engineering.

The result of this development work is a product range that includes the HyBlade® axial fan and RadiCal® centrifugal fan, which was nominated for the Hermes Award at the Hannover Messe 2010. Both EC series exceed today the minimum efficiency requirements for fans laid down in the EU ErP directive for 2013 and 2015. The blades of these fans are made out of a dimensionally stable hybrid construction, which substantially improves noise characteristics and efficiency.

With GreenTech, ebm-papst has put its corporate philosophy in a nutshell with respect to resource efficiency and sustainability. Products, processes and production are evaluated from the perspective of environmental compatibility. GreenTech comprises forward-thinking development, eco-friendly production, maximum energy efficiency and maximum customer benefit.

At ebm-papst China, products are already manufactured for more than 10 years now. The Chinese locations operate very successfully as they offer customized solutions and technical support. However, in the medium term our aim is to establish the whole ebm-papst product range, there, and, furthermore, gain new market shares. Therefore, we plan to extend our R&D activities on site to be able to meet Chinese market needs even more effectively. This can only be realized by a powerful team of competent and creative engineers. Hence, we look for young engineers who want to become part of that team. Young professionals like you.

With more than 14,500 different products, we offer the world’s widest product range of fans and motors.

The GreenTech idea reflects a simple but clear philosophy that goes back to our company principle: "Each new product that we develop has to be better than its predecessor in terms of economy and ecology."
