Position Description & Responsibilities:
He/She will take part in providing facilitation & needs driven development for innovative eco-solutions to eco-city stakeholders thru collaboration with the partners from internal and external of Siemens (like CT, Siemens BUs, top institutes and universities worldwide, start up) and promotion of innovative technologies.
• Take initiative in the process for innovation project by collecting customer needs, workshop for innovative ideas, screening new technologies/partners and delivering comprehensive due diligence analysis.
• Combining with created innovative ideas to take initiative in assigned project by completely understanding technology details from internal or outside partners down to code and algorithm levels and by thinking outside the box to create value-added application innovations/solutions.
• Manage assigned project to deliver promised results under budget and within schedule and, if required, learn new skills in unfamiliar technology fields.
• Support the innovation project leader to get project agreements signed and deliver successful exits.
• Empower and facilitate the development of assigned test bed/lab engineers by giving constructive guide and feedback.
Qualifications: • Ph.D. in Electric Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environment Engineering, Building Environment & Equipment Engineering, Architecture Technology & Science or related fields from reputable universities (preferably US universities) within the last year. • Must be creative, possess strong organizational skills and enjoy a fast paced working environment. • Must be a self-starter, have a track record of getting projects done on time and within budget. • Strong communication skills both written and oral are also needed. • Detail oriented and organized, with exceptional prioritization skills. • .Ability to work effectively within a group with 'team spirit' as well as independently motivated with minimal supervision is required. • Must be able to conduct and lead projects. • Able to communicate complex technical ideas in English.
• Proven R&D or innovation experience overseas or in Multi-International Company in at least 2 of the following fields: information, computing, communication, control for one or some of the areas on building, energy, environment, water, security or transportation (including e-car, e-bus, ITS,…).
• Willingness to learn new technologies and maintain sustainable city related knowledge
• Willingness to travel 15-30% of the time
• Ability to backfill or interact with one or more other practice areas
